چکیده

An OFDM signal consists of N sinusoids (bins) with spacing 1/T, that are modulated by data symbols that have a duration T, equal to the inverse channel spacing. Hence, although the modulated bins spectrally overlap, they are orthogonal. The generation of the OEDM signals at the transmitter and the demodulation at the receiver can be pedormed efficiently by means of Fast Fourier Transforms. The use of OEDM signals has been proposed for various applications, such as broadcasting of digital audio and digital TV, and high bit rate transmission on twisted pair cables [ 1-41. During a symbol period T, the complex envelope of the transmitted OFDM signal can be expressed as

Performance analysis of an OFDM system with carrier frequency offset and phase noise

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is sensitive to the carrier frequency offset (CFO) and phase noise, which destroys orthogonality and causes intercarrier interference (ICI). Previously, two methods were available for the analysis of the resultant degradation in performance. Firstly, the statistical average of the IC1 could be used as a performance measure. Secondly, the bit err...

Intercarrier Interference of Various Pulse Shaping Functions Used in OFDM Systems with Carrier Frequency Offset

For orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) communication systems, the frequency offsets in mobile radio channels distort the orthogonality between subcarriers resulting in intercarrier interference (ICI). This paper is focused on the problem of reducing the intercarrier-interference (ICI), signal to noise ratio and improved performance in the transmission over OFDM using various puls...

OFDM System under the Combined Effect Analysis of the Phase Noise, Carrier Frequency Offset, Doppler Spread, and Amplifier Nonlinearity of the SEL

In this paper, we provide an exact closed-form expression of the effective signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) performance under the combined effect of the phase noise, frequency offset, and amplifier nonlinearities of the soft envelope limiter (SEL). A simplified approximate expression is also obtained for the effective SNR under certain conditions...
